In this small group two week course you will start with basic coloured pencil techniques, learn how to create fur and layers and then create your own wildlife artwork to take home. Over two evenings you will firstly learn some fabulous pencil techniques to create realistic fur and hair, skin and eyes too. Then you will embark on your own version of Liddy's fox pencil drawing.   • Paint Like...Matisse

    Henri Matisse was a French artist, leader of the Fauve group, regarded as one of the great formative figures in 20th-century art, a master of the use of colour and form to convey emotional expression. In this online session we'll attempt to paint one of his works, gently guided by Liddy Sat 26th April 3pm - Self Portrait What do I need? We try to keep the requirements very simple to ensure the sessions are as accessible as possible Acrylic paints in primary colours (watercolour and poster paints can be used too, please let Liddy know in the meeting if you want guidance for these) Brush examples (but not definitive) Flat Brush (1/2 inch or larger), Round Brush (No2 and No4 and No8) Canvas or Canvas Board or Cardboard (prepared with white paint) in terms of size, the choice is yours, but as a guide A4 paper size or bigger You'll need a pot of water, a cloth and a smile!

    A friendly, guided art session at The White Hart, Sherington. Coffee and cake is an essential ingredient to the creative process in gentle fun couple of hours art. Every Thursday 10am. Course Tutor - Liddy graduated from Derby University in 2005 after gaining a BA Hons Degree in Illustration. She completed her PGCE before embarking on a 10 year secondary school art teaching career in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. She is currently undertaking a course in the History of Art. Liddy left teaching to start her own business Something Less Boring in 2017 to bring art and sport to a wider audience Liddy lives in Buckinghamshire delivering art and creative drawing workshops as well as relaxing Sip & Paint evenings. She also produces contemporary abstract art and papercut work, undertaking commissions too.

Our aim is to put on some relaxed art sessions on Saturday mornings that are open to all. Please be aware it can be a little chilly in the winter months and there are blankets available, but warm clothes are advised. We'll provide all the art materials and guidance you'll need We encourage you to bring along some refreshment and and enjoy a couple of hours art with us, The Farm Shop will be open after the morning's creativity for cider purchases.   • Sketch in the Park - Emberton

    Join us to Sketch in the Park! This open-air sketching class in the beautiful country park will provide you with the skills necessary to create great preliminary drawings for your paintings . Guided by Liddy we'll begin with some gentle drawing exercises and then get out on a planned route around the park as we take a number of different scenes. Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced artist, this class will help you improve your sketching abilities in a relaxed, natural setting. We will provide all drawing materials, but you will need a sketchbook.   • The Eight Belles Weekly Art Club

    A friendly, social, guided art session at The Eight Belles, Bletchley. Grab yourself a coffee to boost creative process as you begin a gentle, fun couple of hours of art. Every Tues 12.15pm. We provide all the materials, equipment, guidance and hot drink too.   • Sip & Paint at Brampton Halt

    Grab yourself a refreshing drink and join us in the marquee at the very lovely Brampton Halt country pub for a relaxing evening of creativity. Liddy will provide you with as much or as little guidance as you want, as you put brush to canvas in this very chilled workshop. We'll be painting the fabulous colourful watercolour Lion in March, followed by the vibrant contemporary Rubber Plant in May.   • In the Style of...Cassatt

    Mary Cassatt was an American painter and printmaker. She was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania , and lived much of her adult life in France, where she befriended Edgar Degas and exhibited with the Impressionists. Cassatt often created images of the social and private lives of women, with particular emphasis on the intimate bonds between mothers and children. Wikipedia Sat 8th March 3pm - Little Dog in Blue Armchair (a section of Little Girl in a Blue Armchair) In this gently guided session we'll try out some of the techniques that the great artists used to define their unique styles. We'll aim to replicate one of their classic works. We may choose a whole painting or a section to complete and you will enjoy an evening creating something similar to a great master! What do I need?   • Illustration at Shaw's Corner

    In the garden of George Bernard Shaw's home we will gather to learn illustration skills with the aim of creating a fabulous image of the house at Shaw's Corner. The small group course is designed for beginners and improvers, but no experience is expected. We will provide all the materials you will need and as always gently guided in Liddy's relaxed style. We have been granted use of the garden only and will be outdoors for the duration of the event, please dress appropriately for the weather. The garden is mainteained regularly so there may be work being undertaken during our time there, so there may be some noise. Liddy is the creative force and main tutor with Something Less Boring.
