Join Liddy online to paint "Puffins" in this gently guided watercolour art class What do I need? We try to keep the requirements very simple to ensure the sessions are as accessible as possible For this Watercolour session: Watercolour set/paints that includes primary colours with black and white Coloured Pencil Crayons Optional - Watercolour Pencils A range of brushes as above Optional - a black drawing pen Watercolour paper or a thicker paper (to absorb the paint) For Acrylic sessions: Acrylic paints that include primary colours plus black and white A selection of three brushes – flat brush, medium round brush and a detail brush will suffice Canvas, canvas board or cardboard (primed with white paint) We usually work to approximately A4 size, but feel free to use whatever is your preference You’ll also need a pot(s) of water and a cloth or kitchen towel If you’d like to paint in a different medium than the session is advertised as, please mention to Liddy at the start of the Zoom meeting and she will provide the additional guidance About the tutor: Liddy is the creative force and main tutor with Something Less Boring. Van Gogh is today one of the most popular of the Post-Impressionist painters, although he was not widely appreciated during his lifetime. He is now famed for the great vitality of his works which are characterised by expressive and emotive use of brilliant colour and energetic application of paint. The traumas of his life, documented in his letters, have tended to dominate and distort modern perceptions of his art. Drawing on the styles and techniques of some very well known artists you will be guided through this session to create your version of a piece in the style of David Hockney. Discover the beauty of watercolour painting in this day course course at the National Trust Dunstable Downs is perfect for those who are new to watercolour painting or for those who want to sharpen their skills. Liddy will guide you through the techniques and materials used in watercolour painting with the aim to create a beautiful and stunning evening sky. We have scheduled this day course's to coincide with dusk, so, weather permitting, we may be inspired by a delightful Downs sunset. Thurs 5th November 3pm The small group course is designed for beginners and improvers, but no experience is expected.
